CNBC is seeking a social media pro to execute our social editorial strategies on various platforms. This social media editor, based in CNBC's San Francisco office, will create and distribute content aimed at increasing traffic and engagement across all CNBC platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, Twitter, TikTok, and others.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who has a proven track record of expanding the social reach of a media outlet or brand. This position requires impeccable spelling and grammar, a deep understanding of social media trends and what works on each platform, vertical video editing skills, the ability to capture well-composed videos on a phone, Photoshop experience, and passion for business news and personal finance stories. Being able to host social content is a plus but not required.
Specific responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:
• Execute daily posting and strategy across CNBC's social accounts
• Write, optimize, and schedule original site content in a timely manner
• Create compelling social-first content, driving engagement and creating unique experiences
• Editing and formatting videos for social
• Maintain brand voice and presence
• Staying updated with the latest trends, technologies and best practices in social media
• Community engagement
• Collaborate across teams (Editorial, Events, TV) on projects
• Work with the Director of Social to execute the big picture strategy for CNBC's social accounts
Qualifications
• At least 3 years of professional experience in a social media role
• A proven track record of growing social accounts and referral traffic
• Strong news judgment and a good sense of the trending topics that will resonate with our audience and showcase the CNBC brand
• Ability to perform and multitask under pressure
• Adobe Creative Suite â€'' Photoshop and Premiere, in particular
• Highly motivated, extremely organized, detail-oriented, and possess outstanding communication and coordination skills
• Solid written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
Desired Characteristics:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
• Proactively monitor and address any potential social media crises or negative feedback, employing effective communication and resolution strategies
• Understanding of SEO principles and techniques to optimize social media content for search engines and enhance organic visibility
