Responsibilities
CNBC, the world leader in business news, is seeking a Senior Editor to develop, launch and lead multiple programs collectively known as CNBC Councils – convened groups of leading C-level executives in key verticals. The goal of these programming initiatives is to super-serve executives (primarily Chief Human Resources Officers, Chief Technology Officers, Chief Information Security Officers and other executives in technology functions), with in-depth industry content and insights and interpersonal connections.
Reporting to Reporting to the VP and Senior Executive Producer for Strategic Content, the Senior Editor, CNBC Councils will manage the content development across all CNBC platforms (TV, digital, and live events).
Core responsibilities could include are not limited to:
• Articulating a formal editorial mission for each council
• Creating and executing an annual programming calendar with support from relevant internal departments (events, marketing, product, research, etc.). Programming examples include:
• Digital articles, videos, and newsletter
• Television interviews
• Original research
• Conference calls and webinars
• VIP breakfast / dinner events
• Annual summit
• Partnering with anchors, reporters, producers and editors in creation of content related to specific functional audiences
Broader role and responsibilities could include but are not limited to:
• Building awareness of each of CNBC's editorial efforts with key industry stakeholders (CHRO, CTO, etc.)
• Advising editorial leaders on industry news, including trends and story angles to pursue on TV or digital, and potential voices to consider booking or interviewing across all platforms.
• Representing CNBC at industry events where key C-level stakeholders are present
• Working closely with key business partners (sales and sales marketing, finance, business development, marketing) to ensure commercial success, without compromising editorial integrity
• Periodically moderating panels and roundtable discussions at related CNBC events serving these audiences
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum 5 years of experience in news or publishing
• Extensive knowledge of critical issues facing executives in today's business landscape
• Ability to create multi-platform content
• Existing relationships with C-level executives at large corporations a plus
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Familiarity with CNBC's content, brand, 30-year legacy and ongoing publicly available initiatives

Desired Characteristics
• At least 10 years of experience in B2B publishing or business news, including at least 5 years covering HR, leadership, workforce management, digital transformation or technology
• Experience supervising teams, planning coverage across multiple content areas and platforms or leading complex projects
• Ablility to multi-task and prioritize and capable of handling projects with minimal oversight
• Interest in exploring and contributing to the creation of new content models
• Detail-oriented self-starter with strong problem-solving and project management skills
• Strong curiosity and thirst for knowledge, always interested in learning new skills
