At Clocktower Tax Credits, the Acquisitions Associate is responsible for sourcing state tax credit sale or finance opportunities in the Film and Digital Media market segments for the Company. The Acquisitions Associate will utilize networking and relationship building skills, working with film producers, studios, lenders, and accountants nationwide to secure signed contracts for Clocktower to market their projects to institutional clients. Your job is to raise equity for filmmakers' projects. You're not costing your client money; you're bringing them capital! We have financed productions ranging from multi-million-dollar projects such as ''Ozark'' to a $20,000 award-winning Nigerian feature.
This is an entry level position in project finance which requires an engaging personality and enthusiasm. The position offers the opportunity to work at a small firm in an entrepreneurial environment, as the Associate acts as ''CEO'' of his/her own market segment and is given a wide range of responsibility and decision-making. The ideal candidate can wed their creative side with their business acumen and organizational skills.
A typical day may be spent initiating phone contact with Regional Film offices, trade groups to discuss programs and obtain lists of participating productions, browsing state government agency websites for tax credit program information, researching state laws and regulations. The Associate will send company information to prospects and follow up with phone calls and/or e-mails. Sales success will be achieved by obtaining a signed contract to engage Clocktower Tax Credits to market a prospect's tax credits to investors. In addition, the Associate will be responsible for obtaining information from clients and then analyzing project finances, creditworthiness, timelines, and their conformance with the tax credit program. If a project is acceptable, the Associate will help negotiate and prepare transaction documents.
