Part Time Unpaid Internship
Goodyear Ballpark and Recreational Complex is the spring training and player development home of the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds. Our spring training internships offer students an opportunity to gain hands-on, real world experience in all operational areas. By the end of the internship, each intern will have gained hands-on experience in ballpark and ticket office operations, corporate partnerships, community relations, customer service, game day production, events, marketing & social media.
We're looking for outgoing, innovative individuals who possess a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and desire to learn. You'll work hard, but you'll grow both personally and professionally, and have a lot of fun in the process.
The following internships are available for the 2019 spring training season:
• Ballpark Operations (1)
• Corporate Partnerships (2)
• Marketing & Promotions (2)
• Digital & Social Media (1)
Examples of responsibilities for all internships:
• Participating in the selection, interviewing, hiring and training of game day staff and volunteers
• Participating in conceptual meetings regarding game day logistics, ticketing, marketing and sponsorship
• Assisting with development and execution of game day promotions and sponsorship activations
• Assisting with preparation and execution of ballpark events such as Fantasy Camp, Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Days, Autograph Days and Catch on the Field
• Developing and participating in Promotions Team activities to generate awareness of spring training (i.e. distributing pocket schedules, facilitating mascot appearances at schools and area events, staffing information booths)
• Gathering fan data through in-park surveys
Corporate Partnerships Internship
The Corporate Partnerships intern will assist in the management, activation and servicing of corporate partnerships. In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, this intern will:
• Assist with generating sponsorship leads, contracts and fulfilling sponsorship elements
• Generate sales calls with potential new sponsors
• Assist with planning and executing sponsor-related events (mixer, sponsor appreciation, etc.)
• Prepare sponsor proposals and recaps
• Execute signed sponsor contract agreements
Requirements:
• Pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications or related field
(you MUST be able to receive academic credit for this internship)
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, sharp attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines
• An idea person, who is adaptable and able to work well with a team to identify solutions and create new opportunities
• Extremely coachable, ambitious and eager to learn every day; must have a sense of humor
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Must have a valid driver's license and successfully pass background check
• Must be able to relocate to the Goodyear, AZ area and provide own housing and transportation
Dates: 1/2/19 through 03/29/19. (Must be able to work flexible hours to include holidays, weekends & evenings and all game days.)
Salary: Stipend of $750 per month. Interns are not entitled to a job at the conclusion of their internship.
