Full Time Job
The Assistant General Manager - Ballpark Operations is located at Goodyear Ballpark, the spring training and player development home of the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds. Job duties include assisting in executing and overseeing ballpark operations by performing a variety of sports facility functions associated with a multiuse, public assembly facility including coordinating, planning, organizing and facilitating events and activities. The position works with professional baseball teams, promoters, contract services providers, and lessees to assist in the overall success of the activity or event while maintaining compliance with City, user contract and departmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines and function under stress. Must demonstrate exceptional work habits, including integrity, strategic thinking, continue to gain knowledge and provide support to achieve a standard of excellence on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will be results orientated with sound, analytical problem solving and negotiation skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management. This position supports events and must have the ability to work irregular/extended hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Essential Functions
This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The following functions do not identify all duties performed by the incumbent. Other duties and responsibilities will be performed as assigned.
• Manages sports facility events throughout the campus by scheduling and participating in conceptual meetings; determining locations; developing cost projections in accordance with approved fee schedules; coordinating with other departments, vendors, and agencies; planning concessions and maintenance; evaluating event and activity effectiveness and recommending improvement; researches competitors' events and programs; recommends areas of improvement.
• Assists in management of spring training and off-season baseball and non-baseball event operations by recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling event services staff, volunteers, custodial services, security services, and other contractors; develops and administers staff training materials; plans, evaluates and monitors performance of assigned staff; develops and implements staff and volunteer recognition/reward program; schedules, monitors and tracks employee hours and leaves; coordinates pre-game and in-game activities; responds to tenant needs.
• Executes facility user contracts, produces comprehensive complex reports, responds to public inquiries; collects fees and balances accounts.
• Coordinates a variety of recreational programs, local/national tournaments and camps, scheduling meetings, scheduling field usage, coordinating maintenance activities, and developing reports and evaluations.
• Develops and administers strategies designed to increase facility utilization and enhancement of events; provides post-event reports to and performs follow up surveys with facility users.
• Recommends annual budget and expenditures by forecasting revenues and expenses for programs, authorizing payments, monitoring expenditures, recommending adjustments, and evaluating program performance.
• Facilitates and oversees use, activities and events throughout the campus including (but not limited to) professional and amateur baseball games and activities; concerts; fairs; graduations; large public events.
• Oversees general facility maintenance including the purchase and inventory of materials, supplies and equipment related to the ballpark operations; contacts vendors and service contractors regarding prices, delivery and services required for the effective operation of Goodyear Ballpark. Perform regular inspections of Goodyear Ballpark; identify projects that need to be completed and lead improvement projects to increase safety and efficiencies.
Requirements
• Formal Education/Knowledge: Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum three years experience in a related field.
• Certifications and Other Requirements: Valid Driver's License.

Salary: $64,044.95 - $95,075.19 Annually
