General Description/ Job Summary:
The Senior Director of Housekeeping is responsible for the total physical plan (cleanliness, housekeeping maintenance and related servicing) of the entire Arena (Administrative Offices, Meeting areas, Premium areas, Suites, Dressing rooms and Practice areas). The Senior Director will also be responsible for the development and execution of programs as they relate to sustainability projects, recycling, resource conservation, waste elimination and energy use to meet the organizations social, environmental, and economic goals. This team leader will collaborate with other team leaders within the organization to implement these programs while reducing the organizations carbon footprint. In addition, this position will monitor, measure and report program performance and track and report organization's environmental impact and suggest possible improvements where needed.
Included with this responsibility is the leadership, team member hiring (Full and Part Time), budgeting, materials and supply purchasing, coordination, team member training, development, and implementation of the total Fieldhouse Housekeeping as it relates to all servicing, cleaning, and maintaining for the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. This position will also be responsible for handling guest interactions and issues in a timely manner. Conducts Performance Evaluations and disciplines staff when needed. Works directly with staffing agencies to ensure proper staffing levels. Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, and coach all employees in Rocket Mortgage Housekeeping Department to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met. Assures financial goals of the housekeeping department are met. This role has direct contact with guests and as such good communications skills are a necessity. The work schedule for this position reflects the events hosted and the Team Member work schedules at the Fieldhouse and will require flexibility with work schedules, task assignments and task follow-up. The Senior Director of Housekeeping will coordinate work efforts with the Director of Housekeeping and Housekeeping Manager and report directly to the Senior Vice President of Facility Operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Directs institutional housekeeping program to make sure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
• Establishes standards procedures for work of housekeeping staff and plans work schedule for making sure adequate service.
• Inspects evaluates physical condition of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse and submits to management recommendations for repairs, furnishings, relocation of equipment and reallocation of space.
• Develop and manage the safety and health protocols to ensure compliance with our standards.
• Research, develop and implement methodologies of sustainability & environmental initiatives; analyze data to determine project feasibility.
• Research, vet, and propose infection mitigation technologies, procure, and coordinate installation of approved technologies.
• Monitor national resources (CDC, WHO, OSHA, GBAC, Well Health & Safety) to ensure compliance with recommended guidelines and standards.
• Consult with Public Health professionals or Epidemiologist to create and validate infection mitigation efforts.
• Create, assign, and document quality assurance inspection checklists and retain files for compliance.
• Lead and schedule the Housekeeping Team in event presentation of Cavaliers games, Cleveland Monsters games, Concerts and Special Events at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
Required Qualifications:
• 5 years of housekeeping experience, preferably from an entertainment venue, healthcare facility, school / university, or any other large facility comparable to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
• Minimum of two years' experience working in operations management.
• Strong knowledge of current sustainability practices in venue operations.
• Deep understanding of facility, housekeeping, and event operations.
• Strong communication skills, including written and verbal.
• Have some word processing, spreadsheet and computer skills. Experience in Word and Excel preferred
• Ability to work extended hours including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred, not required.

Must be very flexible regarding work hours, often working multiple shifts, weekends, and third shift; Events and activities change at moment's notice and must be able to adapt; organize and prioritize work to be able to multi task.
