JOB SUMMARY:
Rock Entertainment Group is seeking a talented '2025-26 Seasonal Assistant, Social Media' to help create, conceptualize and manage content that will be distributed across Cavs Care social media platforms to achieve organizational goals. We are looking for a candidate that holds a strong passion for and knowledge of highlighting community events/initiatives and social impact awareness. The role will collaborate with the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Digital Content Team to build and develop compelling content that resonates with various audiences, while possessing a strong attention-to-detail within a fast-paced environment.
* This is a temporary position from September 2025 - June 2026, that will work onsite at Rocket Arena approx. 40 hours per week.
** Local candidates preferred. There is no relocation assistance provided for temporary positions.
PAY RATE: $15.00/HR START DATE: September 8th, 2025
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Content Creation and Management:
• Develop and execute a community-focused social media strategy aligned with the brand and goals of our Cavs Care platforms.
• Create and schedule engaging, timely content across platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Instagram and Facebook that is consistent with the overall Cavs Care brand.
• Capture and share compelling content from Cavaliers community events, DEI initiatives, player appearances and volunteer outings.
• Manage the social media content calendar, ensuring consistent posting schedules in coordination with the Cavaliers larger digital and content initiatives.
• Support real-time coverage at Cavs Care events, including holiday programs, SIE team outings, and TMVP-related appearances.
• Support the creation of sponsored community-related content in partnership with marketing and corporate partners.
• Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns to promote community events, recognitions and organizational initiatives.
• Stay up-to-date on social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms in sports media.
• Assist in developing social media awareness for the Cavs Care channels.
Community Engagement:
• Monitor social media channels and respond to comments and messages across Cavs Care channels in a timely, empathetic, and brand-aligned voice.
• Engage directly with fans, nonprofits, and community leaders on social media, fostering an inclusive and positive online environment.
• Run contests and other interactive content to boost engagement.
• Coordinate with the Digital Content Team and Community Relations/Social Impact and Equity team to ensure events are covered and posted while highlighting the human impact behind Cavs Care programs.
Analytics and Reporting:
• Track key social media metrics and KPIs using analytics tools.
• Provide regular reports to Cavs and Community Relations/Social Impact and Equity management on social media performance and growth.
• Use data insights to optimize content strategy and improve engagement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year College or University, preferably in the field of journalism, communications, or web-related field (or currently pursuing a BS Degree).
• Must be avaliable to work a minimum of 40 hours per week onsite at Rocket Arena.
• Must be avaliable to work onsite at Rocket Arena Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:30pm. (This is not a part time role and candidates seeking part time hours will not be considered).
• Must be avaliable to work flexible hours including frequent weekends, evenings, and occasional holidays.
• Experience producing written, video, audio, and graphic-based content.
• Experience creating, posting, and sharing content across current social media platforms.
• Working knowledge with HTML and Adobe Web Premium programs such as: Photoshop, Adobe Premiere or related video editing platform.
• Ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences.
• Superior attention to detail and proof-reading experience.
• Ability and willingness to work independently and under close direction.
• Must be organized, highly motivated and team-oriented.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-oriented workplace.
• Knowledge of basketball is preferred, but not necessary.
