JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the 'Sr Manager of Talent Acquisition', the '2025-26 Seasonal Assistant, Talent Acquisition' will support the People & Culture (HR) Team in the areas of recruitment, onboarding, and internal & external event coordination. Our ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills both written and verbal, be highly organized, and have a proactive and positive attitude. This role provides hands-on experience in end-to-end recruitment, and is ideal for individuals interested in building a career in HR or talent acquisition.
** This is a temporary position from September 2025 - June 2026, that will work onsite at Rocket Arena approx. 40 hours per week.
** Local candidates preferred. There is no relocation assistance provided for temporary positions.
PAY RATE: $15.00/HR START DATE: September 8th, 2025
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist Talent Acquisition Team with data-entry, employment verifications, tracking candidate pre-employment forms, and general filing.
• Post job openings on various platforms and manage postings in applicant tracking system (Dayforce).
• Maintain and update candidate records and databases to ensure accurate tracking of applicants.
• Responsible for submitting and tracking the completion of candidate background checks.
• Monitor and respond to email inquiries through the talent acquisition team inbox.
• Manage and track the internal employee referral program using spreadsheets to ensure accurate record-keeping and timely follow-up.
• Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
• Communicate with candidates regarding interview logistics, feedback, and next steps.
• Support employer branding initiatives, such as drafting social media content, or assisting at community and university career fairs and other recruitment events.
• Will assist Talent Acquisition Team with coordination and execution of internal hiring events, such as career fairs, internal training sessions, etc.
• Perform general administrative tasks, such as preparing offer letters, organizing digital files, and supporting HR projects.
• Assist with HR metrics, reporting, and data analysis related to recruitment activities.
• Assist with weekly new-hire HR orientation & onboarding sessions for full time, part time, and seasonal employees.
• Assist People & Culture Team with special projects (Internal Event Planning, Wellness Initiatives, Daily Tasks, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned by leaders of the People & Culture Team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year College or University, preferably in the field of Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (or currently pursuing a BS Degree).
• Must have at least 6 months prior recruiting / talent acquisition experience (can be from internship), preferably as part of a corporate HR team.
• Must be avaliable to work a minimum of 40 hours per week onsite at Rocket Arena.
• Must be avaliable to work onsite at Rocket Arena Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:30pm. (This is not a part time role and candidates seeking part time hours will not be considered).
• Must be willing to work approx. one evening per week to assist with our evening onboarding sessions that begin at 6pm (approx.1-2 hours).
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Platforms (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must be comfortable with public speaking, as this individual will assist in running weekly pre-employment onboarding presentations for groups of 2-20 people.
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple daily tasks and meet deadlines.
• Must be punctual, reliable, highly organized and team oriented.
• Effective communicator with a high-level of emotional intelligence and empathy.
• Eager to learn the business side of the sports industry.
• Experience with full-cycle recruiting is preferred.
• Experience managing candidates in an ATS is preferred.
