Clear Lake/Fever Recording studios are two multi-room state-of-the-art recording studios located in North Hollywood. We deliver an exceptional creative experience to a wide range of clients. Both studios are firmly established in the music industry and continue to grow rapidly, creating the need for this position.
We are seeking a General Manager to lead our team of 20-plus music professionals. This individual is responsible for every aspect of the day-to-day management and operation of two studio locations (3 daily-rented studios and 6 production rooms) with associated staff and facilities management.
Responsibilities include:
Keeping all rooms in both facilities booked, maintaining relationships with current customers, and developing new relationships. Managing/scheduling staff of engineers, runners, assistants and interns including hiring, training and coaching with a focus team building. All administrative duties necessary to keep both studio locations running smoothly and maintained in world-class condition. While the general manager will generally have a regular schedule, the unique nature of the recording industry means the general manager needs to be available as the studio's operation may require.
Skills Required:
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with superb attention to detail and strong communication and customer service skills. They are friendly, professional, and have respect for confidentiality. Knowledge of the recording process, equipment, and software is required. Must have excellent organizational skills and be a quick learner. Be able to communicate effectively with senior management and have team-focused leadership skills. Financial management, including budgeting, bookkeeping, and tracking outstanding invoices with labels. Time management is essential, along with administrative and planning skills. Sales experience a plus.
Experience:
Must have experience with the demands of a world-class recording studio. Bachelor's degree (minimum Associate's) with 5 years of experience in recording industry, preferably studio operations, with supervisory experience and the ability to hire, coach and train staff. Demonstrated effective management of a team of employees is a minimum requirement.
This is not a job for aspiring engineers or producers.
