The City of Peoria Parks & Recreation Department have an exciting opportunity at The Rio Vista Recreation Center. This center is a dynamic and vibrant hub of the community engagement, where we are dedicate to providing a wide range of recreational programs and activities for individuals of all ages. We believe in fostering a healthy, active and inclusive community and we are seeking a motivated and creative Venue Coordinator to Join our team.
As a Venue Coordinator at Rio Vista, you will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and implementing a diverse array of recreation programs and events for our community members. This position will collaborate with the Recreation Supervisor and other team members to ensure our offerings meet the needs and interest of our patrons. In addition, this person will support the department as a whole in various capacities including marketing, campaigns, community-based events, and Spring Training operations.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• Experience in coordinating events, functions, activities, and operations of a Recreation Center or similar facility.
• Progressive experience with supervising staff, instructors, and volunteers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule seasonally year-round (including nights, weekends and holidays).
• Marketing experience to promote programs, events, etc
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of three years of related experience. Requires a broad knowledge of complex systems, specialized practices, equipment and procedures.
• Licenses/Certifications/Special Requirements: Valid AZ Driver's License upon hire depending on area of assignment.
PREFERRED/DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION(s):
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Preference to a degree in Parks and Recreation.
• Previous event management experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally with clients and customers desired.
• Previous experience at an entertainment venue desired.
• Experience in a municipal or government setting desired.
Hiring Range: $66,100
