Performance Rigger - Cirque Dreams Holidaze
Touring Position

We are looking for a Performance Rigger, reporting to the Production Manager. In this position, you will be in charge of ensuring the safe setup, use and maintenance of rigging equipment, as well as assist with inventory and safety inspections. The Performance Rigger will also be tasked with operating the rigging equipment during performances.
The Performance Rigger will:
• Ensure the safe setup, use and maintenance of rigging equipment used by Artists during performances, rehearsals and training periods;
• Maintain cue track documentation and run track rotation
• Inspect and maintain equipment and systems;
• Operate rigging equipment during performances and rehearsals;
• Implement, document and ensure compliance with the rigging equipment safety inspection program;
• Assist with inventory and, if necessary, identify any additional rigging equipment that may be required;
• Ensure the security of facilities at all times, and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations;
• Adhere to standards and regulations pertaining to the safety of rigging equipment's, and comply with safe working methods;
• Assist with the maintenance of technical equipment;
• Operate mechanized devices or equipment, by running, maneuvering, navigating and/or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts and passenger vehicles;
• Update maintenance and inspection records within Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as other show specific software such as maintenance databases;
• Develop a thorough knowledge of Rigging equipment specific to the production in order to operate it safely;
• Participate in special projects including the installation of new automated show elements, and interdepartmental projects that include automated elements or other needs that may fall within the technician's specialty as directed;
• Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show; participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training.
• Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships, by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time;
• Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsals, training, maintenance and evening show performances;
• Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
• College diploma (or equivalent) in live entertainment or theatre production; or equivalent, relevant work experience;
• At least three years of previous experience as a Rigger; experience with aerial/human rigging an asset;
• Strong general understanding of all technical aspects of a show an asset;
• Personnel management experience an asset;
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.);
• Flexibility, autonomy, team player;
• Good communication skills;
• Ability to handle contingencies and work well under pressure;
• Ability to work high above the ground (climbing abilities essential);
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
• Operate mechanized devices, or equipment, by running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts and passenger vehicles;
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including but not limited to, standing, sitting, bending, crawling, climbing, crouching and kneeling, often for extended periods of time;
• Ability to work in various environments exposed to elements including, but not limited to, dust, fog, etc. for extended periods of time;
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted;
• Verification of the right to work in the United States for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, as demonstrated by completion of the Form I-9 upon hire and the submission of acceptable documentation (as noted on the Form I-9) verifying one's identity and work authorization;
