Circle of Confusion, a top management and production company, with offices in NYC & LA is looking for a new assistant in our talent department to be based in Los Angeles. We represent many top actors, writers and filmmakers. We are seeking a highly motivated individual looking for the opportunity to grow in the company. We want to find the right person who is hard-working, detail-oriented, ambitious and wants to learn the job of representation. Our talent department assistant will also be a part of running our industry-leading internship program that runs throughout the year.
Responsibilities include scheduling meetings for managers and clients, coordinating travel & housing for acting clients, sending auditions, editing tapes and demo reels, coordinating press, reading scripts, and generating casting ideas. This is a high volume desk and Circle is specifically looking for someone with previous assistant experience who wants to be a talent manager or agent. Additional job duties include but are not limited to:
• Roll calls, schedule meetings for managers and clients
• Update manager and client calendars
• Coordinate client travel, housing, and payments
• Schedule ADR and VO recording sessions
• Submit and pitch clients to casting, send auditions to clients, prepare daily casting book
• Edit, review, and submit audition tapes, provide feedback
• Read scripts
• Facilitate writing character breakdowns of scripts
• Facilitate incoming press inquiries & appearance requests for clients
• Review client projects and select material for demo reels, edit demo reels and bios
• Share new client content with social team, advise coordinators on social media drafts, and generate content for social media initiatives, draft company-wide tune-in alerts
• Generate webpages for company website, assist in maintaining the site so all info is accurate and up to date
• As part of the internship coordination team, assistant will interview, select and train interns, plan and moderate events such as panels, meetings, and other events
• Gather and circulate employee and company materials for interns to prepare for events, run weekly intern staff meetings, assign interns weekly talking points to prepare for the staff meetings
• Provide feedback on intern resumes and initial round of practice coverage
• Act as a resource for any questions interns might have about character breakdowns, coverage, social media, research assignments, and managing their workload
