The Opportunity
The Manager, New Content has a critical role on the Cinereach Studio team. Reporting to the CLO / Business Affairs Lead, this individual will spearhead efforts to identify opportunities that further the company's mission. This role will be a key liaison between Cinereach and the wider emergent content industry and through your detailed reporting and insights, will be instrumental to the organization's programmatic planning.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate for this position is collaborative, humble, responsive, a good listener and quick learner with follow through, and works well in fast-paced team environments. You are an adept and adaptable communicator both in speech and writing, you are both pragmatic and ethical in negotiation, with a passion for discovery and innovation in the content arena. You're energized by constantly evolving media business models, new technologies, platforms and distribution channels. You have your finger on the pulse of content trends and emerging content creators. As an analytical thinker, you're able to synthesize and interpret new discoveries into future opportunities for Cinereach Studio.
The candidate should have entertainment industry experience, be an avid learner, have excellent judgment and analytical skills and passion and commitment to mission-driven work.
Skills & Qualifications
• At least 3 years of professional experience in the entertainment industry, ideally at a major talent agency, management company, entertainment law firm or other media company
• A strong interest and/or experience in business development, consulting or partnership management
• Proven experience with creating and giving internal and external presentations
• Experience working within the content ecosystem (film, TV, web content, interactive, video, social, etc.)
• Experience with professional communications support and outreach, including email communications with external partners and liaising with PR, or marketing support as necessary
• Experience with synthesizing data
• Highly organized, detail-oriented and analytical
• Avid learner with ability to be agile and pivot with the change of strategic plans or current trends
• Excellent judgment
• Passion and commitment to mission-driven work and strong interest in working in a creative industry
• Self-directed, resourceful and innovative
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Job Responsibilities
• Administrative Support:
• Assisting with research & planning; sourcing, vetting and prioritizing opportunities or leads as needed for workshop collaboration and potential investments, provide notes and summaries, review a variety of materials, and create comparative analyses.
• General project support, which might include event planning, coordination of logistics, setting meetings and schedules, initiating timelines, etc.
• Giving notes on scripts and pitches
Strategic Support:
• Attending new media/interactive / emerging platform conferences, and making and sustain key connections with gatekeepers/influencers
• Identifying and evaluating emergent players across industries to help identify potential for new high impact partnerships and collaborations
• Supporting business development efforts, and helping to forge new key strategic relationships under the guidance and plan of supervisor
• Synthesizing data, feedback, trends and other information to supply the team with data points that aid in the decision making process and help to shape the programmatic roadmap
• Articulating big ideas and concepts that help the team's understanding of emergent trends, key players, industry moves, etc. in presentations including comparative analyses of recommendations how Cinereach might engage in the market
Some travel may be necessary.
Salary range: $70K - $83K
