Senior Business Affairs Executive - Full time position as of August 1st, 2021
Well established, Beverly Hills based, international feature film sales agency seeks dedicated Senior Business Affairs Executive to oversee the company's finances and assist with closing and tracking contracts. Ideal candidate must have a solid understanding of international film sales and film distribution business, as well as independent film financing. Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of full-time experience in similar function.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Draft, review, and track distributor contracts
-Create invoices for international film distributors and assist with legal delivery
-Maintain several financial and legal status spreadsheets
-Assist in and draft documents for major financial transactions, such as production loan closings
-Track the company's AR and AP and manage company bank accounts
-AR collections and AP processing
-Prepare necessary documents for company's tax submission (P&L's, etc.)
-Responsible for collections from international distributors
-Create backend financial reporting for film producers
-Enter all project related transactions into the company accounting software
-Standard accounting tasks such as income entry and expense allocations
-Analyze film distribution terms and follow up on reporting obligations
-Create cash flow projections
-Various ad hoc tasks include file organization, entity management and document authentication at embassies
REQUIREMENTS
Standard accounting practices (SAP) a must and basic legal knowledge, particularly licensing agreements
Prior relevant experience at film distributor, international sales agency, or other similar company a must
Experience dealing with banks, intermediary licensors and financiers
Solid understanding of domestic and international banking systems
Extensive experience with Quickbooks and must have the ability to run reports as needed
Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel) and Google Suite a must
BA required. MBA preferred
Extremely organized individual with strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with entity management and document authentication a plus
