Job Title: Major League Video and Technology Coordinator
Department: Baseball Operations – Major League Team
Reports To: Manager of Advance Scouting
Job Purpose: This individual will develop and contribute to an efficient process for collecting video, creating video content, and distributing video to players and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with Minor League Video and Technology Coordinator, IT, developers, and database staff to create a 3-year plan for the organization's video department.
• Proactively create efficiency and value in the collection and distribution of video throughout the organization.
• Assist players and staff with video needs.
• Prepare video files and playlists for upcoming series, advance meetings, and dugout ipads.
• Maintain and expand internal video databases.
• Implement new video tools throughout the organization.
• Integrate new technology (Rapsodo, Trackman Mobile, Edgertronic cameras, bat sensors, etc.) in alignment with organizational priorities.
• Capture game and non-game video at home and on the road during spring training, regular season, and postseason.
• Organize daily tasks and manage video staff personnel efficiently to maximize productivity.
• Work with Minor League Video and Technology Coordinator to hire and train minor league video interns.
• Assist with replay review.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of commonly used video programs and baseball industry technologies such as BATS, IP cameras, Edgertronic cameras, handheld camcorders, Rapsodo, Trackman, Trackman Mobile, bat sensors, HitTrax, etc.
• Knowledge of video storage, editing, production, formats and frame rates, streaming, and sharing.
• Able to identify pitch types and common baseball plays.
• Excellent organizational skills, work ethic, and attention to detail.
• Able to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
• Able to work with and manage a diverse group of people possessing different backgrounds, personalities, education levels, and native languages.
• Must be a good written and oral communicator.
Experience, Education and Licensure:
• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
• Experience playing, working, and/or scouting in college and/or professional baseball preferred.
Requirements:
• Proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
• Must be available to work and travel to all home and away games during spring training, regular season, and postseason. Hours will include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• In addition to a typical interior/office work environment, applicants must be able to work in a locker room/clubhouse setting and outdoors where the employee will be exposed to weather conditions.
