This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Position: Performance Nutrition Intern
Department: Health & Performance
Reports to: Major League Dietitian
Status: Hourly/Seasonal
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Summary:
The Performance Nutrition intern will work within Great American Ballpark to support sports nutrition initiatives within our Major League team. The position will report directly to and work under the direction of the Major League Dietitian.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Report to Great American Ballpark for all home games during the 2022 season.
• Responsible for stocking the clubhouse cafeteria before the team arrives and maintaining it throughout the day. This includes snacks, shakes, and beverages.
• Maintain inventory in the clubhouse pantry. Utilize grocery delivery services to restock clubhouse items as needed.
• Prepare individual and team smoothies based on individualized plans made by the Major League Dietitian.
• Work in collaboration with the Dietitian to create unique game day snack and smoothie recipes.
• Work in the kitchen to prepare snacks, cut fruits and vegetables, etc.
• Stock individualized supplements based on individualized plans made by the Major League Dietitian.
• Prepare dugout and bullpen hydration drinks.
• Assist the Major League Dietitian in creating educational content to be used in the cafeteria.
• Other duties as assigned by the Major League Dietitian.
Qualifications:
• ServSafe Food Handler's Certification.
• Possess or in the progress of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field.
• Previous experience in a collegiate or professional sports setting preferred.
• Must be professional in a professional sports team environment.
• Must be able to work unconventional hours.
• Have the ability and desire to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• A positive, friendly personality with a passion for sports performance.
• Dependable, and the ability to take direction and work independently and efficiently.
Spanish-speaking, preferred.
