This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
The Chicago Sky is seeking an excited, outgoing, and dedicated candidate that will interact with the general public while being an integral part of ongoing community and ticket sales efforts. The Sky Cares Community Tickets intern will be a vital part of assisting the Community Ticket Coordinator in all aspects of Sky Cares Community tickets and bus program. This position will gain hands-on experience working with 501 c 3 non-profit organizations, youth groups, and schools/libraries.
Note: Although this is an unpaid position, this opportunity will give you invaluable experience in the sport industry.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in executing Sky Cares Community Ticket Initiatives and Bus Program for the 2022 Sky season
• Create and implement strategies to prospect, develop, and grow relationships with 501 c 3 non-profit organizations and community groups
• Develop strategies to engage and increase memberships
• Aid the Community Ticket Coordinator and sales department in assigned tasks including online research and designated projects
• Assist in the planning and execution of various grassroots marketing efforts with ticket sales, sponsorship, and community representatives in order to drive ticket sales and brand awareness
• General office duties
Criteria & Qualifications:
• Must be able to commit to work the 2023 WNBA Season (including playoffs)
• Excellent phone and computer skills
• Detail oriented
• Very organized
• Able to interact with internal and external clients in a professional manner
• Comfortable meeting, speaking, and dealing with business owners and professionals
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent time management skills with ability to multi-task
• Highly motivated, self-starter with a passion for working in sports
• Live in Chicago-land Area and have access to reliable transportation to the Chicago Sky main office and various events around the Chicago-land area
• Required to work Chicago Sky Events/Games (weekdays, nights and weekends may apply)
• Knowledge, enthusiasm, and interest in the Chicago Sky, women's professional sports, and the greater Chicago community
• Sport Marketing & Management, Sport Administration, or related business majors preferred
This position reports directly to the Community Ticket Coordinator, and as a reminder, is an unpaid internship. Academic credit is available.
