The Chicago Cubs seek a creative and social-savvy Digital Content Producer to join our marketing team. This producer will create leading-edge, social-first multimedia content for the Cubs digital and social media channels that drive fan engagement, brand growth and cultural relevance.
This position requires someone who deeply understands the art and science of social media content, has worked cross-functionally to create and execute impactful multi-channel content series, is comfortable using data and testing to inform their decisions, and has a track record of finding fresh and creative ways to expand and engage a fan base via social media. Curiosity, motivation and rigor are a must, a love for the Cubs is a big plus.
Responsibilities:
• Establish a ''real time x real relevance'' strategy for @cubs social media that produces consistent, engaging and multi-faceted content, reacts to the flow and energy of the season, and proactively connects with multiple fan profiles
• Create opportunistic, of-the-moment multimedia content for @cubs social media channels, with a focus on gameday action, player-personality and atmospheric narratives with an emphasis on video and application of topical pop-culture trends
• Assist with general management of team social media platforms including but not limited to Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook
• Assist with standard gameday content creation and coverage, including but not limited to pregame entertainment, in-game highlights and post-game content
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and create innovative content that reflects the tone and voice of the Cubs brand; explore new tools and trends that engage new audiences
• Collaborate with teams across the organization including ticketing, corporate partnerships, brand programs and more to generate multimedia content for organic and paid channels
• Contribute to the development of the Cubs social media strategy and support ideation, creation, execution and analysis of content for Cubs and other team-owned social media accounts
• Brainstorm and assist in capturing and editing content for player marketing, Cubs Charities events, corporate partnership obligations, ticketing needs, brand activations, influencer content and other cross-functional initiatives
• Participate in meetings and make recommendations for processes and procedures regarding creation and distribution of social media content
• Ability to edit or create static graphics and edit photos for use across all social media platforms
• Demonstrated ability to work within brand guidelines and maintain consistency while also adding personal, creative touches that keep content fresh, exciting and best in class
• Monitor social media presence and engage with fans via social channels as needed
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience creating consumer-facing content including but not limited to social-first video and graphics
• Passion for social media and a strong understanding of social media platforms
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite including but not limited to Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects
• Detail-oriented with the ability to learn quickly and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong people skills and the ability to collaborate successfully in a team setting
• Flexibility to work a varied, non-standard schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays
• Embody the core values of the Cubs organization and reflect a team-first mentality
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of the Chicago Cubs, its history and Wrigley field; general understanding of Major League Baseball rules and other teams
• Experience working in the sports and entertainment marketing industry
• Social copywriting and editing skills (AP style)
• Spanish language skills a plus
