POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Chicago Bulls have a growing Digital team that is focused on driving business impact by ensuring that the Bulls stay relevant in a rapidly evolving fan landscape, and by establishing the team as a trailblazer in the digital space. In addition to being one of the sports teams with the largest worldwide following, the Bulls Digital team has established itself as one of the most innovative and respected digital practices in sports, and we are looking for someone who wants to continue to help us push boundaries and grow our digital practice.
We are seeking a self-starter who is creative, organized and driven for the position of Digital Content Coordinator. In this role, you will focus on Chicago Bulls digital content with a specialized focus in branded campaigns. You will be expected to manage campaigns and tell compelling stories for Bulls corporate partners that primarily live on Bulls digital channels, including ideation that involves client, industry, content & platform specific research, client management, and content creation, publishing & reporting. You will also help in day-to-day management of Bulls social channels, including helping the digital team observe and cover games during each regular season, preseason and postseason game, along with major NBA calendar events like Draft, Summer League and others.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Digital Content Coordinator, you will work closely with internal teams (including our Corporate Partnerships, Game Entertainment and Marketing teams) to help manage and write the messages and content that ultimately are published from official Bulls channels. Your primary responsibility will be to ideate, execute and publish branded content as agreed upon between the Bulls and the team's corporate partners, publishing content in a way that makes sense both for the partner as well as for the Bulls audience. You will be trusted to oversee and manage multiple concurrent campaigns and ensure the Bulls are delivering on agreed upon content, while at the same time thinking 'fan-first' and ensuring that the Bulls' millions of online followers are being served consistently good content and that branded content is not seen as an 'interruption' of basketball content.
More specifically, you will be responsible for the following:
• Understand the social media space and how to most effectively use the available channels to achieve organizational goals
• Set processes into place that can organize multiple campaigns for numerous different corporate partners to ensure we are delivering both an accurate and efficient manner
• Using analytical tools to understand the Bulls following, desires and what content they want to see
• Educate partnerships teams on what content performs best and ideating on how to integrate partners naturally into high performing content
• Executing branded content campaigns from research and inception to creation, publishing & paid promotion of content
• Oversee a selection of our corporate partner's accounts and ensure we have strong relationships with our Partnership Marketing team and, where appropriate, directly with the client themselves.
• Lead the team's recapping efforts on branded content, telling the story of different campaigns and presenting reports together to evaluate the level of success for each content franchise.
• Organize the Bulls content library in a way that makes it easy to pull and create content for both branded and organic content
• Make creative recommendations for both branded and non-branded content
• Leading our efforts on monetizing Weibo through branded-content related to our Chinese fan-base
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree required in journalism, communications, marketing or related concentration
• Ideal candidate has some experience (professional or academic) in sports
• At least 1 year of experience working with digital content
• Has an understanding of western & Chinese social media best practices & platforms
• Ideal candidate can speak Mandarin
• Understanding of HTML basics
• Background in communications, writing, reporting a plus
• Proven ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Highly organized and strong time management abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
• Works effectively and quickly in a dynamic environment
• Initiative and dedication to challenge self and continually strive for improvement
Note that this role requires flexible work hours and will include work outside of normal office hours during the business week and on weekends.
