POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Chicago Bulls have a strong history of giving back to the community by contributing time, materials, resources and financial donations to organizations that share the team's dedication to youth education, youth health and wellness, violence prevention and military support. Our Community Relations team supports this effort each season and we are currently seeking a highly motivated, organized and positive person to join us as a Community Relations Coordinator.
We are seeking someone who is both passionate about service and committed to cross-departmental collaboration, and who also has the discipline and organizational skills to both plan and execute against meaningful projects each season. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Coordinator on the team, you will have hands-on involvement in planning and executing community initiatives that support our strategic direction and will work on the following:
Data Collection and Impact Reports:
• Support and expand a system to compile and provide internal reports and communications on the development and execution of programs while maintaining records and recommendations to be referenced for future programs and/or events
• Produce periodic and season summary of team donations, outreach and impact
• Support event database management
Game Night Support:
• Assist department head with game day activities both leading up to and during home games
• Support department game day ticket activations and donations
• Support department activations such as scoreboard messages, wish granting programs and Ambassador suite visits
Donation Management:
• Support management of in-kind donation requests and help lead fulfillment process
• Run donation database
Event Production:
• Participate in department brainstorm session for event concept creation
• Run event logistics with department support
• Serve as project manager on the day of an event
Additional responsibilities:
• Support Chicago Bulls Community Outreach Initiatives such as Season of Giving, Hoops for Troops and Volunteer Program
• Provide support for Chicago Bulls Charities fundraising events
• Help facilitate autograph sessions with players
• Assist Community Relations Managers with event and program production in collaboration with Partnership Marketing, Ticketing and Marketing teams
• From time to time, represent team at partner dinners and galas
Qualifications:
We are looking to place a highly organized self-starter who can work well with a variety of people at all levels to fill this role. You could be a potential match for this role if you a strong mix of the following experience:
• Bachelor's degree required
• 1-3 years of prior work experience
• Background in marketing, entertainment, community relations and/or sports is helpful
• Experience working effectively within the Chicago community a plus
• Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of database management and reporting tools
• Highly skilled in project management, specifically working on project implementations that require cross-departmental teamwork to meet deadlines and deliverables
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Ability to think creatively and communicate clearly, professionally, and persuasively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to expertly run multiple tasks at a time and maintain composure under pressure
• Demonstrate solid work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to collaborate effectively
• Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to work within a rapidly changing environment
• Proven ability to handle confidential information
Note that this role requires flexible work hours and will include work outside of normal office hours during the business week and on weekends.
