This is a Full Time Job
We are looking for an ambitious recent college graduate who is interested in working with directors in the branded content industry. This role sits in the Creative Department and acts as support to the directors and our director agents. Candidates must have enthusiasm for pop culture, music, film and an eye for art, design, fashion and photography. Ideal candidate is up to date with general trends and is savvy with Adobe software and video file storage systems. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in learning facets of director pitching, director management and the advertising world. You will work with the New York City based team and report directly to the Creative Manager. We are currently operating fully remotely with the intention to move to a hybrid format three days a week in person circa Autumn 2022. Candidates should be located in/around NYC with the ability to be called upon for in-person events when necessary. This is a fantastic opportunity to break into the competitive commercial production industry, working for premiere director talent. Note: Creative Assistant will co-manage and coordinate a future office move.
Job Duties:
Maintaining the company's digital video assets; Primary liaison between company and all editing/post houses during post-production
Working with Sales Agents on presentation materials and reels
Maintaining photo library and providing research for director treatments
Staying up to date on all the full body of directors work
Being aware of current culture, directors & artists
Assisting in developing award show strategy and preparing entries
Assisting in PR Strategy: Researching platforms and festivals to distribute company's work. Assist in tracking and distributing press accolades, reviews, interviews
Assisting with social media posting/caption writing
Supporting Quarterly newsletter copy and design
Maintaining website upkeep, reel orders, thumbnails, bios
Assisting tracking director availability
General Creative Department Support:
Setting up creative calls; Director meetings, Internal Creative discussions
Updating and maintaining the staff calendar - eyes and ears for the staff
Assisting in updating Dropbox
Tech problem-solving
Managing & mentoring NY office interns
Office Support (possible in-person return tasks)
Share phone coverage when front desk reception is not available
Share office runner responsibilities: errands, deliveries
Managing New York office storage inventory including film archives, art books.
Must be equipped with:
• Knowledge of Mac computers and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Keynote, Gmail, Dropbox, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere)
• Tech savvy with comprehensive understanding of all things digital
• Some production/agency knowledge (or a desire to learn)
• Wiredrive or MailChimp knowledge a plus
Through the experience of your primary responsibilities, during the course of your time at Chelsea you will gain in-depth knowledge of the following:
Director pitch & treatment process
Director management & talent scouting
Overall understanding of the production company business
Understanding of the role of brands & ad agencies
The commitment is full time, Monday-Friday/ 9am-6pm. Production can require us to meet strict deadlines so candidates should be willing to work flexibly when need be, with the understanding company respects prior engagements. We expect a minimum 1 year commitment. You will receive a formal review upon each calendar year. We provide full health and dental coverage at no expense to the employee.
