Summer 2018 – Basketball Operations Front Office Intern (Charlotte, NC)
Position Overview
The Charlotte Hornets seek an energetic individual to support members of the Basketball Operations staff with all basketball operations related tasks. The position is unpaid and the student must receive academic credit. Hours vary between 20-40 hours per week.
The Summer 2018 program will be May 23-August 10.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with database management
• Assist with preparations for the NBA Draft and free agency
• Assist with various basketball operations projects as assigned
Required Skills
, Experience, and Abilities
To perform essential job functions, you should demonstrate the following competencies:
• Pursuing a degree in law (JD), business (MBA), computer science, statistics, sports management/sports administration, or the desire to pursue a career in an NBA front office.
• Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Outgoing personality with good communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Expertise in computer programming and/or statistical analysis is a plus.
• Ability to work on projects and maintain confidentiality.
• Willingness to work long hours.
• Maintain professional image at all times.
Strong knowledge of NBA and college basketball preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Possess a strong ability to manage one's own time and prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives
• Able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when privy to sensitive information
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to manage their own individual projects
• Be a flexible and reliable team player, both within own department and the company as a whole
• Have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Presents self in professional manner and has the ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts.
• Dependability – consistently at work on time, follows instructions, responds to manager's instructions.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays.
Ability to attend company events.
