Storyboard & Animatics Artist
Role Description:
We are seeking a highly creative, cinematic, and detail-oriented Storyboard & Animatics Artist to join our production team. This role is critical in transforming scripts, treatments, concepts, and director notes into compelling visual sequences that define pacing, emotion, staging, and screen language.
The ideal candidate understands how to tell a story visually through camera choices, composition, character acting, transitions, and timing. You should be able to turn written material into clear, dynamic boards and animatics that guide production efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for an artist who enjoys storytelling, filmmaking grammar, and shaping projects from concept through production.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will look like this:
Translate scripts, outlines, treatments, and creative briefs into professional storyboard sequences.
Design shots, staging, camera angles, lens logic, screen direction, continuity, and scene transitions.
Visualize emotion, comedy, drama, suspense, and action through strong sequential storytelling.
Create animatics with temporary timing, pacing, camera movement, rough motion, transitions, and sound references.
Interpret director and producer notes quickly and revise efficiently.
Maintain consistency in character, character proportions, scene geography, continuity, and narrative clarity.
Collaborate closely with writers, directors, editors, animators, designers, and production teams.
Suggest visual improvements, alternate staging, comedic beats, stronger transitions, or storytelling solutions.
Organize files, scenes, naming conventions, and version control professionally.
Meet deadlines and production milestones in a fast-paced remote environment.

Framing
Composition

Camera positions and movement
Shot continuity
Screen direction
Visual pacing
Ability to communicate acting, emotion, gags, action, and pacing through drawings.
Strong sense of timing for animatics.
Ability to simplify ideas into clear visuals quickly.
Comfortable receiving feedback and executing revisions professionally.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Organized, dependable, and deadline-driven.
Software Proficiency
Toon Boom Storyboard Pro (preferred)
Adobe Creative Suite
These skills will bump you up to superstar:
4-5+ years of experience in animation, film, and advertising.
Experience working directly with directors or showrunners.
Familiarity with 2D and/or 3D animation pipelines.
Understanding of layout, previs, and shot planning.
Ability to adapt to multiple visual styles, tones, and genres.
Experience boarding dialogue-heavy scenes, action sequences, comedy, or emotionally driven scenes.
Experience in remote pipeline collaboration.
