Can you wrangle a circus performer in the middle of a busy soundcheck? Are you that unicorn 'Creative' that's also incredibly organized and computer savvy? If so, we are looking for you! Cerbelli Creative is currently searching for a Stage Manager to assist our team in-office and on-site for events. The Stage Manager is responsible for booking and supervising event entertainment ranging in scope and size, including roaming acts, musicians, DJs, magicians, cirque performers and much more. They will serve as the liaison between the booking entity and the performers on behalf of Cerbelli Creative's clients. The Stage Manager will work alongside the Entertainment Manager and other team members to drive the entertainment portion of a project from brief to delivery, including procuring entertainers, negotiating contracts, overseeing marketing efforts, and overseeing the fulfillment of technical and hospitality rider requirements.
The Stage Manager represents the Cerbelli Creative brands, which include Cerbelli Creative, Michael Cerbelli's: The Hot List™ & TwoFortyThirty venue entertainment. This individual must develop and manage a database of creative entertainment concepts by observing the market, competitors, and industry trends and to maintain the company's status as leaders in the world of event entertainment.
Candidate Qualities:
The ideal candidate has experience working with talent agents in a variety of live event formats for social, corporate, and non-profit clients, and with entertainers of all levels and price ranges. They must have knowledge of how to negotiate contracts, fulfill riders, and manage talent on site, as well as stage management & production knowledge. He/she will be comfortable handling a multitude of ever-changing tasks, including daily responsibilities, talent/vendor relationship building and tight deadlines.
They must enjoy working within a small dynamic environment that is fast-paced and demanding. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. They will have the ability to work collectively and independently on projects from conception to completion and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
To be successful in this role, the Stage Manager should have strong interpersonal, and communication skills and possess an in-depth knowledge and understanding of technical production, rider fulfillment and talent communication.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Assist Entertainment Manager with effectively designing, producing, and managing social and corporate entertainment events from
concept, proposal writing, verbal proposal presentation, production and planning, and event day execution
• Analyze event industry and entertainment trends to design a data base of entertainment ideas & one sheets, with pricing guidelines to
grow the entertainment aspects of the business
• Assist with organizing special events including scheduling and liaising with external service providers to co-ordinate facilities, equipment,
and set-up
• Conduct research, make site visits, and find resources to help staff make decisions about event entertainment possibilities and
continually stay knowledgeable on new ideas and acts
• Prepare planning documents such as show flow, production schedule and stage plans / plots
• Serve as a liaison and point of contact with vendors on event entertainment-related matters
• Oversee on-site entertainment production and strike for events
• Coordinate acts, vendors & talent, handle client & performers and troubleshoot on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly
• Maintain event funds and budgetary constraints
• Maintain, develop and nurture relationships with agents, vendors & talent
• Promote the Cerbelli Creative brands & ideas at industry events
• Stay current in the industry by attending educational opportunities, conferences, and workshops, reading publications, and maintaining
personal and professional networks
• Some travel may be required (approx. 1-2 x per month)
• Other duties as directed and required
Experience & Educational Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1-2 years' experience in a coordinator role in the event industry.
• Knowledge of how to negotiate contracts, fulfill riders, and manage talent on site, as well as stage management & production
knowledge.
• Superb leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management and organizational abilities.
Technical Knowledge:
• Desired: Keynote, PowerPoint, Canva, CAD & floor plan systems
• Speak the ''technical language'' required to communicate with producers, audio/visual, agents and venues to fulfill technical and
production needs for talent riders
Personal Attributes:
Most importantly, this role requires a courteous, positive, and high-energy individual with great people skills. We value hard work, and we want to have fun doing it.
