The role is responsible for strategic planning of the budget, schedule and resources for the front end production stage in the creation of digitally animated television series. The role's responsibilities begin during the development phase of the project and extend into the post-production and marketing phases.
The role leads the in-house production team and directly manages communication to a variety of cross-functional teams, in-house and external partners. The role functions as a tactical advisor to the senior management and co-manages the development of the TV content
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, schedule, budget, operations, resource and staffing plans, as well as crew communication. The Producer is ultimately accountable for delivery of high quality production images within the budget and on schedule.
Location: Hong Kong or Shenzhen
Duties:
- Oversees the daily operations of the shows' production team.
- Responsible for casting and staffing of production teams.
- Responsible for creating budgets and financial tracking of project.
- Responsible for production resource plans and acts as resource wrangler.
- Function as tactical consultant offering suggestions and alternatives to push their creative vision within production and budget constraints.
- Responsible for overall schedule; to ensure creative requests are prioritized and can be accomplished within the production schedule
- Work closely with Production Management and Team Leadership to ensure high level objectives are clearly understood and communicated to crew.
- Responsible for providing guidance, experience, insight and inspiration to the crew at large.
- Primary responsibility for maintaining a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Identifies potential issues in advance, facilitates problem solving and maintains the momentum required to keep the team delivering on schedule.
- Deliver reviews and assist in career development of direct reports, ensuring excellence within the group is fostered and acknowledged
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years in progressive animation production management roles on animation series and/or feature film(s).
- Demonstrated ability to successfully schedule and execute on all aspects of animation production.
- Thorough knowledge of industry-wide data and asset management tracking tools and applications
- Prior experience working directly with creative leadership and talent.
- Prior experience working with a remote studio and remote tools a plus
- Experience developing and pitching creative
- Experience managing production budgets and schedules
- Ability to lead and persuade other, positively influencing the outcome of team efforts
- Excellent analytical, presentation, and writing skills required
- Exceptional writing and communication skills in Chinese and English
- Must be willing to travel abroad on an as-needed basis
- Optional: Experience in animation production for kids content would be beneficial.
