The ideal candidate is a self-starter who works well in a team environment and has strong writing and reporting skills. In this role, you play a key part in our coverage providing content for our fans and our premium subscribers along with interacting with them on our message boards. The ideal candidate would live in or near Norman, OK in order to be close to campus events, news conferences, etc.Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
• Report and provide free and premium written updates on Oklahoma football, basketball and recruiting.
• Write or contribute to Big 12 and national features.
• Cover Oklahoma football, basketball games and other key events throughout the year to gather unique content for our users and subscribers.
• Post on the Oklahoma 247Sports message board community and interact with fans by providing news, analysis and insight on college athletics.
• Build relationships and develop sources to provide premium information and break news
• Provide original and quality content to help grow audience and message board community
• Work with national editorial to help provide comprehensive coverage on national newsBasic Qualifications:• Experience covering and reporting on college football recruiting
• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, communications, electronic media, or related field
• Must be able to travel and work flexible hours including nights and weekends
• Experience in multimedia, especially on-camera video and podcasting
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilitiesAdditional Qualifications:• Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok
• Experience on camera for video features around football recruiting and basketball recruiting coverageADDITIONAL INFORMATIONHiring Salary Range: $45,000.00 - 65,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
