The CBS Sports Social Media team creates and distributes all content posted from CBS Sports, CBS Sports HQ, CBS Sports Network, CBS Sports Podcast, and SportsLine social media channels. In a sports media landscape that's cluttered with noise, we take pride in building content that resonates with our audience and represents the core values of our brands.
The Senior Social Producer will be a major contributor to programming our SportsLine social media accounts. In addition to working with the core social team at CBS Sports, the candidate will work directly with the editorial and podcast team at SportsLine to produce content for our accounts. They must have the ability to quickly identify emerging storylines in the sports gambling space, format them for different social platforms, and post them to engage our audiences.
Role Details:
Reporting into SportsLine's social media manager, the Sr. Social Media Producer (Freelance) will directly program content for SportsLine's accounts across various social media platforms. In addition to having very strong sports knowledge, the candidate must thoroughly understand sports betting terminology and the culture surrounding it. They must have some experience directly managing brand accounts on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Tik Tok, and Facebook. They must be ready to create and post content right from the get-go with minimal oversight.
Your Day-to-Day:
• Monitor and report on pertinent sports gambling information, including line movements, futures, live lines, and injury impact
• Work with the editorial team to provide statistics and data that will add value for sports gamblers
• Format information into graphics photoshops, and memes to make it more appealing to social media audiences
• Showcase SportsLine writers and projections on social as a way to encourage subscriptions for the brand
• Cover sporting events live, providing pertinent insights and commentary for sports gamblers
• Frequently meet and collaborate with peers in Production, Editorial, and Marketing to support their priorities through SportsLine's social accounts
• Provide direction to social designers and video editors to build social content
• Use social to drive referral traffic to Sportsline.com
• Work with talent and on your own to build original video content, specifically for content
Qualifications:
What you bring to the team: You have â€''
• 2-3 years experience of social media management, preferably in the sports industry
• Bachelor's degree in electronic media, communications, or a related field
• Familiarity with and passion for sports and sports gambling
• Willingness to adapt working schedule to cover primetime sporting events, often on nights and weekends
• Ability to work under very fast turnaround times
• Grasp of Adobe Photoshop and Premiere with a hunger to improve your craft
