Overview & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly organized and team-oriented Senior Coordinating Producer to join our dynamic news team. This role is responsible for managing the logistics, planning, and execution of daily newscasts and special projects. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a deep understanding of both editorial and technical production workflows.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Oversee daily and long-term planning of news content, coordinating with producers, reporters, and technical teams.
• Collaborate with the Assignment Desk and add to assignment boards by providing back-half rundowns and supporting the execution of the Executive Producer’s vision.
• Track and manage schedules for anchor, correspondents, and editorial staff to ensure consistent coverage and resource allocation.
• Work with in-house and regional crews, as well as partners (e.g. Newspath and WCBS), to build synergy and streamline coverage of major events with shared editorial interest and ensure seamless execution of newscasts.
• Collaborate with the Head of the Investigative Unit to review and approve expenditures, monitor the development and associated costs of potential stories, and advise the Executive Producer on the editorial value and financial feasibility of each project.
• Lead cross-training initiatives with the Production team to ensure seamless coverage during absences or emergencies.
• Enhance post-production workflows by implementing shared drives containing commonly used elements such as music, graphics, and templates.
• Maintain high editorial standards and ensure compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide real-time solutions during live broadcasts.
Basic Qualifications
• 10 years of experience in news production, with at least 3 years in a senior or coordinating role.
• Strong editorial judgment and understanding of newsroom operations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to breaking news.
• Familiarity with newsroom systems (e.g. iNews, Avid and Interplay, Slack), production tools, and digital platforms.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $200000.0 - 260000.0.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
