Are you a storyteller with excellent writing skills who can craft memorable newscasts that engage and inform viewers? Can you work under tight deadlines and deliver high-quality content across multiple platforms? If so, you might be the producer we are looking for!
CBS Sacramento, the CBS owned and operated duopoly KOVR/KMAX, is looking for an experienced, proactive, and highly collaborative producer who thrives in a team-oriented environment. As a news Producer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting, leading, and coordinating content for both traditional TV broadcasts and our growing digital-first platforms. You will take ownership of your assigned show and validate that you have the work ethic to get answers for our viewers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Originate, research, write, produce, and edit news segments for television and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless coordination and execution of news.
• Work in the newsroom and control room demonstrating adaptability and composure in fast paced situations.
• Adopt change and innovation, constantly seeking new ideas and approaches to connect with our audience.
• Contribute to the station's goal of growing digital-first content.
• Uphold impeccable grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced.
• Exhibit strong editorial judgment, effective communication, and critical thinking skills.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years of broadcast or cable news experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Proven background in journalism and television production, including solid news judgment, rundown management, and concise broadcast writing.
• Familiarity with streaming platforms and working knowledge of digital video production techniques and online content management.
• Previous experience working in a live control room, including serving as a Line Producer in a live-news environment.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check prior to beginning employment.

Hiring Salary Range: $67,000.00 - 77,000.00.
