Here at KDKA-TV, the CBS owned and operated television station in Pittsburgh, we are looking for an experienced, proactive, and highly collaborative producer who thrives in a team-oriented environment! As a Producer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting, leading, and coordinating content for both traditional TV broadcasts and our growing digital-first platforms. This position will require you to work closely with our team of fellow journalists to craft engaging news segments that resonate with our diverse audience.
Job Responsibilities:
• Write scripts and build rundowns to ensure journalistic content and quality in accordance with our mission.
• Effective communicator to those in the field with story composition and live reporting.
• Exhibit strong editorial judgment, effective communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Uphold impeccable grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced.
• Work in the control room demonstrating adaptability and composure in fast paced situations.
• Daily review of news product before and after air to ensure shows meet and exceed the mission of impactful journalism, quality, accuracy and stellar execution.
Job Requirements:
• At least 3 years experience in a commercial broadcast setting; college degree preferred.
• Proven background in journalism and television production, including solid news judgment, rundown management, and concise broadcast writing.
• Knowledge of iNews, Grass Valley Stratus, and Edius editing solutions preferred
• Experience with emerging media techniques and equipment in a newsroom setting a plus
• Must be able to work all shifts
• This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement with SAG-AFTRA
The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check prior to beginning employment.
