The Media Planning team requires a dedicated manager responsible for scheduling, reporting and analyzing promotional elements for CBS Entertainment, Brand and News. Reporting to the Director, Media Planning, this role works closely with a dedicated Media Planning team to input and update promo information within the scheduling and traffic systems as well as compiling and analyzing schedule reporting to optimize planning efficiency and performance. Working cross-functionally with Strategy and Operations teams to explore new tooling and reporting options to provide greater data-driven decision making in the scheduling process.
The Media Planning Manager will create weekly schedules and manage a database of entertainment shows within system, liaise with campaign strategy on primetime promotions to order, schedule on-air promotion elements, manage database of emergency reel promotions and act as an after-hours contact when needed. The ideal candidate for this role is a team player, expert collaborator, who can help troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage strategic placement of CBS News elements across all CBS channels and mentor coordinator in the planning and scheduling of each element
• Track, analyze and report media utilization and performance
• Develop insights to drive optimization of CBS on-air media
• Collaborate with marketing analytics team to incorporate into overall marketing insights
• Test/learn different tools/systems to integrate into planning process
• Liaise with program sales team on commercial formats for all dayparts
• Build weekly programming grids in scheduling software and monitor for any programming changes
• Maintain show database of original content and create additional entries for new series
• Manage ordering of primetime promotional elements
• Monitor and order daily promo revisions for entertainment series
• Schedule programming logs and implement daily on-air promotional strategy shifts
• Assist in proofing these daily schedules for accuracy
• Manage emergency reel for CBS network
• Enter programming formats into system and monitor for changes
• Provide weekly tracking reports as requested for all campaign launches
• Assist with planning of addressable content and release nightly promotion schedules
• Collaborate with campaign management to accurately code and order promotions for all paid media buys and ensure they are trafficked properly to various networks
• Back-up for graphic ordering, Sports/VOD logs, and various on-air tasks
• After-hours contact for troubleshooting any concerns (some evenings/weekends)
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience at a network or agency in a similar role
• Excellent collaborator across teams and departments
• Must be highly proactive, well organized and detail oriented
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written within own team as well as external partners and senior leadership
• Possess strong time management skills
• Experience working with different data sets, mining insights and developing concise reporting and recommendations
• Experience with Microsoft Office, JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Airtable, Google Docs, Widen, IBMS, Frame.io a plus.

Hiring Salary Range: $74,400.00 - 93,000.00
