In addition, the division includes CBS SPORTS NETWORK, the 24-hour home of CBS Sports, and produces “INSIDE THE NFL†for SHOWTIME. CBS Sports Digital’s multi-platform offerings include CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports apps for mobile and connected TV devices; streaming sports news network CBS Sports HQ; 247Sports; MaxPreps; CBS Sports fantasy games; and SportsLine.
Summary:
The freelancer will work alongside Associate and Technical Directors, sharing responsibility for airing commercials during live CBS Sports broadcasts including the NFL on CBS, NCAA football and basketball, March Madness, PGA Tour Golf, and a multitude of sports properties including CBSSPORTS.com.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for operating a custom Grass Valley graphic user interface (GUI) and backend (ITX)
• Manipulating content on the fly across 4 separate output channels in Grass Valley graphic user interface (GUI)
• Monitoring the status of multiple output channels in ITX
• Loading, quality controlling and editing commercial playlists, as well as segments that have been ingested to CBS servers e.g. halftime and highlight packages, standby shows, bridges, and news updates
• Creating additional commercial breaks and alternative scenarios for existing breaks on the fly during broadcasts
• Adding station break triggers and adjusting the timing of local commercial breaks as needed
• Cueing commercial breaks to be rolled by Technical Director
• Incorporating last minute sales changes to commercial playlists during broadcasts
• Building online specific breaks with event specific slates for internet audiences
• Monitoring database of commercial/segment assets alerting AD to newly ingested content & quality controlling new content during broadcasts
• Taking commercial changes in real time and updating commercial list as directed
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a Live control room television environment
• Previous experience as a TD or Master Control Operator
• Experience with a server-based system preferred
• IBEW Technical Director position
Required Skills
/ Experience:
• Previous experience in a Live control room television environment
• Experience with a server-based system preferred
• IBEW Technician position
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights depending on air schedule
• College degree or equivalent experience
