News Production Intern, CBS Philadelphia (In Person, Summer 2024)

The CBS Philadelphia Internship Program in Philadelphia is designed to provide meaningful educational and field experience for students pursuing careers in television broadcasting and related fields. Our internships will expose you to industry professionals and promote both your personal and career development. Just like Philly, our impact goes way back. Born in 1941, we’re a station of firsts: Pennsylvania’s first station, the first station to report live, first to employ an African American TV news reporter, and first to broadcast in color. We’re proud pioneers, constantly pursuing new and better ways to reflect, serve, and connect the communities where we live and work.

Responsibilities:

• News interns will learn how a news department operates and provides news coverage of the Philadelphia region.
• The intern may be assigned to a variety of areas such as news, sports, weather, digital content, or the assignment desk.
• Interns will have the opportunity to observe work in the field alongside reporters and photographers.
• Transportation costs (except those incurred while traveling for business purposes requested by CBS), meals, and any other financial obligations, are the sole responsibility of the individual intern.

Schedule:
• Full time, 35-40 hours/week
• Flexible schedules needed, there will be morning, mid-day and evening shifts

Eligibility:
• Internships are available to students who will be Juniors or Seniors in the fall of 2024. If you are a graduating Senior, please check our website for full-time job opportunities.
• You must be available to intern full-time (5 days a week/36-40 hours a week) for 10 weeks total starting in June. Some roles may require you to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Interns will be required to work fully on-site for the duration of the program.
• Internships are paid at a competitive standard hourly rate (school credit is optional).
