CBS WFOR Miami seeks a dynmaic creative Digital Producer that will manage the station’s 24-7 stream and other digital platforms, including website, online app and social media channels. As our Digital Producer your time will be spent creating original content that will resonate with our digital audience which includes actively seeking out content that will be embraced and shared with our social followers. The other time is spent working with reporters and repurposing on-air content for online pasting along with providing context and other digital elements that will inform and educate our online audience. If you like to work independently, with minimal direction while also collaborating with everyone in the newsroom to produce a robust digital presence, then we are looking for you. Please note the shift will include weekend and evening hours.

Responsibilites:
• Write, edit and post news stories using AP Style from a variety of sources, including news releases, live video sources, web curation, original reporting, network news partners, social media and wire services, with an emphasis on creating/posting online and enterprise news quickly and accurately to CBSMiami.com users and our social media platforms
• Embrace unique and compelling ways to present content using text, video, photos and interactive elements
• Be a strong storyteller who gets Facebook, Crowd Tangle, Instagram and can pick up stories from social listening along with an innate ability to find and write viral stories for those platforms
• Help manage the CBSMiami.com OTT stream when needed using a proprietary content management system
• Conceive and create images for stories and photo galleries when needed that can help tell a story for the online audience
• Have a firm grasp of SEO and apply it when crafting headlines, online stories and other digital content
• Perform other duties as needed and directed
Preferred Education
, Experience, and Certification Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Communications or digital media or other related field
• A mastery of AP style, a basic understanding of television and digital production and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a breaking news environment; writing test may be required
• 2-4 years of experience in a newsroom with a significant digital operation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to use Google Analytics, Chartbeat and/or other real-time analytics to guide site programming and content creation decisions
• Experience with content management systems, HTML, image creation/editing, social media platforms
• Must be able to work all shifts, including days, nights, weekend and holidays
• Create/manage digital content that is engaging and resonates with users
• Must be a self-starter who can generate compelling story ideas with no or minimal supervision
• Have a solid appreciation of video and what video-on-demand clips will prompt our users to watch
• Must be excellent at time management and project management
• The ability to learn new things and embrace new workflows based on industry changes
• Multi-task every day and sometimes under intense pressure to post quickly and accurately
• Remain calm under pressure and be able to write several stories a day as well as the ability to craft longer form stories
• Ability to work well with others and take direction for assignment completion
