DESCRIPTION:
CBS Miami is looking for a phenomenal, hardworking, and ambitious part-time Associate News Producer. You will assist producers with their newscasts on-air and on streaming. This includes writing and researching stories, formatting scripts, writing to video, selecting soundbites, and building graphics. You will also produce news cut-ins. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills and editorial judgment, is able to multitask, and is creative.
Key Responsibilities:
• Write for a variety of newscasts and select the appropriate video and sound to help tell the story.
• Exhibit strong editorial judgment, effective communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Stay on top of developments in assigned stories.
• Produce daily news cut-ins.
• Uphold impeccable grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Solid news judgment and a passion for news
• Ability to work under deadlines
• Knowledge of iNews is a plus
• Bachelor's degree or currently working toward degree
