Position: STREAMING LINE NEWS PRODUCER

Description:

CBS News Colorado is looking for a stream news producer for CBS News Colorado's exclusive 24-hour live, local streaming channel. The streaming producer will work with control room teams managing, optimizing, and timing live and on-demand video content for mobile, desktop and OTT platforms. The role requires close coordination with the EP, and the managing editor to execute live and taped community journalism coverage.

This candidate must have superb news judgment, great writing skills, and a record of thriving in a fast-paced newsroom while remaining calm during breaking news. The candidate should be editorially intuitive and curious.

Responsibilities
include: Producing newscasts. Thinking proactively about streaming content. Demonstrating expertise in timing in a control room environment. Coding rundown content at the direction of the show producers regarding video, graphics, scripts, and other elements. Anticipating the needs of the stream (video, graphics, scripts, etc.). Building show rundowns. Familiarity with editing systems, Crispin, and iNews is a plus. Available for early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays as this is a 24-hour streaming service.

Requirements:

2 years of experience in producing newscasts, creating and building show rundowns in cable, broadcast, or digital environments. Demonstrated success operating in a fast-paced control room. Ability to work under extremely tight deadlines to write headlines and edit video for live digital broadcast.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 65,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
