Position: MORNING NEWS PRODUCER
Compensation and Benefits include Base Salary ($55,000 - $67,000/year) and eligibility for Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) Plan, Life Insurance Coverage, Disability Benefits, Tuition Assistance Program, PTO.
Description:
Are you creative and thrive on producing fast-paced television? This candidate will work with our talented staff to generate new content and help lead the CBS Colorado Morning team to serve the people of Colorado. This person will be a partner for the Executive Producer to grow our morning news block. You will oversee the daily production of the flagship 6am hour newscast by making critical decisions about content and resources, write content and teases, and booth the live show. Manage reporters and elements. Lead breaking news coverage. You must be a leader in innovating and developing new ideas, a master storyteller, and understand top story treatment.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years of producing experience.
• Deep understanding of content planning and editorial strategies with the ability to execute Covering Colorado First, Community Journalism, and First Alert Weather strategies.
• Sharp attention to detail.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and analytical skills.
Requirements:
• Manage scripts to make sure they are accurate, fresh, and clean.
• Executes breaking news.
• Work morning shifts
• Edit video or be willing to learn editing systems.
• College Degree
