CBS Television Stations consists of 28 CBS-owned stations in 17 major U.S. markets, as well as the stations' digital properties. The portfolio of stations includes 15 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates.
The station group's properties also include CBSN Local, a joint initiative with CBS Interactive that features direct-to-consumer streaming news services in the markets where the Company has local news organizations. CBS Television Stations' premium local content is also distributed to consumers by the group's websites and mobile applications.
CBS2/KCAL9 has an immediate opening for an Editor Supervisor for the Los Angeles Duopoly. The Editor Supervisor is responsible for working as a team with in-house editors, Technical Operations Center (TOC) operators, photographers, and newsroom editorial staff in acquiring and editing footage for the KCBS2/KCAL9 News operation.
Overview & Responsibilities:
Duties include acquiring, coordinating, and editing footage featuring different formats and multiple channels of audio, creating graphics and other supporting video clips, assigning projects among other members of the editing team, meeting deadlines. Must have a sound understanding of news editing, file-based workflow and evolving technologies with the ability to multi-task under deadline pressures. Bring a ''can-do'' approach to problem solving in a fast paced-high energy environment. Also, open to implementing new technologies and/or methods to accomplish future assignments.
Basic Qualifications:
Detailed working knowledge of GV EDIUS and STRATUS.
Knowledge of how to ingest and import video, advanced editing skills with full understanding of composition, sequencing, shot selection, effects editing, graphics, multi-layer editing and audio blending, working knowledge of file-based workflow.
Additional Qualifications:
The candidate should be punctual, organized, detail oriented, possess good interpersonal communication skills, have a team mentality, be self-motivated, able to make quick decisions and meet deadlines.
This position requires a flexible work schedule.
Experience using iNews and AVID Editing software a plus
