CBS Television Stations includes 28 CBS-owned stations in 17 major U.S. markets, as well as the stations' digital properties. The portfolio of stations includes 15 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates.
The station group's properties also include CBSN Local, a joint initiative with CBS Interactive that features direct-to-consumer streaming news services in the markets where the Company has local news organizations. CBS Television Stations' premium local content is also distributed to consumers by the group's websites and mobile applications.
WUPA-TV, Atlanta, is seeking a collaborative dynamic leader in the digital content space who will inspire and produce compelling daily content for our website and social media platforms including strategies that will facilitate, drive traffic, and expand our audience base. Help us grow our presence as well as develop engagement across digital-mobile-social platforms, build communities around our news, shows, and promote events.
Responsibilities include:
• Website management, develop engagement, content for all social media platforms.
• Build and implement comprehensive digital coverage plans for major news, weather and sports events.
• Develop strategies to increase engagement and grow audience.
• Promote and stream news content, including live streaming coverage and locally produced events.
• Generate content for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media sites.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Meet tight deadlines in under pressure.
• Practice strong news judgment.
• Partner and coordinate digital contributions from MSJs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Achieved success in growing engagement and social footprints.
• Knowledge of WordPress, Crowd Tangle, HTML, Google Analytics, Anvato, Photoshop, and iNews.
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
• Work independently with accuracy and the ability to problem solve quickly.
• Strong social media skills and contributing content to all media related platforms.
• Able to handle workflow seamlessly and change direction quickly.
• Flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Collaborative leader while meeting deadlines, multi-tasking, managing conflicting priorities on projects.
• College degree in Journalism/Communications/Broadcasting/Digital publishing preferred, equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital production preferred.
• Newsroom setting work experience a plus.
