CBS Television Stations consists of 28 CBS-owned stations in 17 major U.S. markets, as well as the stations' digital properties. The portfolio of stations includes 15 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates.
The station group's properties also include CBSN Local, a joint initiative with CBS Interactive that features direct-to-consumer streaming news services in the markets where the Company has local news organizations. CBS Television Stations' premium local content is also distributed to consumers by the group's websites and mobile applications.
We are looking for an experienced Assignement Desk Editor to lead the charge daily in a multi-platform newsroom. Our next leader will facilitate coverage for on-air newscasts and websote/new media initiatives. This person will research, develop and assign news stories. In addition to being the lead assignement editor, we want someone who can step up in the absence of the Assignment Manager. This candidate must be able to work in a very dynamic environment and must be able to multi-task. Must be able to deal with all aspects of the public and display a high degree of sensitivity to the concerns of viewers and constituencies with different points of view.,
This position requires logistical skills and an ability to schedule and delpoy technical crews. The right candidate must have a working knowledge of Television technology and news gathering techniques. Have command on current events topics, including local news, national news, cultural affairs and sports. The successful candidtae must thoroughly understand the web and social media. Bachelor's Degree preferred and at least three years of major market TV experience. This includes News management experience.
