Description:
The Star Trek Global Franchise team is looking for a Video Content Producer to help create meaningful and unique videos for the franchise's digital content platforms. This role understands the unique audience differences across various and emerging digital content platforms and how that impacts storytelling. They are passionate about fandom, but also understand the importance of brand extensions to grow audiences.
Overview & Responsibilities:
• Ideate and produce videos for distribution across Star Trek's digital platforms, including but not limited to StarTrek.com, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube
• Review incoming footage from original shoots and select breakout moments to be turned into video content
• Develop new franchises and formats for storytelling and breaking news
• Order graphics and pull video/image assets for edits
• Manage editorial calendar for video content, strategizing and collaborating on monthly pitch topics and franchise priorities
• Work with the digital team to ensure the finished product reflects scripts that are legally and creatively approved and consistent with all style and brand guidelines
• Assist in planning and carrying out special event coverage
• Maintain brand tone in scripts and finished videos
• Collaborate with Growth & Engagement and Business Intelligence teams to distribute videos, follow the best standards, and track and analyze video performance
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
• 3 years working in digital video
• BS/BA Degree
• A journalism background in a digital newsroom
• Proficiency in Premiere and Photoshop
Additional Qualifications:
• Track record of creating original content based upon original articles, social memes, and trends
• Deep understanding of publishing on various social platforms and nuances of the end-user experience on each
• A keen eye for visual storytelling with strong editorial news judgment
• A deep love of pop culture and competitive nature that thrives in an environment that requires speed, accuracy, and collaboration
• Ability to work flexible hours, as coverage needs dictate
• Enthusiasm for working in an entertainment fandom environment
• Knowledge of social video analytics and audience sentiment indicators
• An unmistakable sense of urgency and ambition to be at the top of the competitive set
• A keen awareness of a digital media landscape that is constantly evolving and adapting as business needs change and audiences shift their attention and how that will affect our brand
