Overview
CBS Studios is hiring a Sr. Production Finance Associate/Analyst to enhance our robust studio team. We seek a high-performing, motivated, conscientious professional who exhibits strong production accounting skills. You will be a part of a dynamic and creative Production Finance team working directly with our production business units in the planning, financial administration and production of first-class television programming. The successful candidate should emphasize cross-functional collaboration with all business partners for process improvements and efficiencies, along with partnering closely with our internal teams, such as Production, Finance, Business Affairs, Legal, Post, Programming, etc. One must have a strong knowledge of entertainment industry production accounting and reporting. They should be self-motivated, proactive, able to pivot when necessary, thorough, and able to prioritize multiple and diverse responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail.
Responsibilities
o Administer the financial on-boarding and off-boarding process for the various productions including and not limited to, payroll systems, banking, IT production support, system support
o Other periodic activates include supporting the Production Finance Executive with check deposits, cost allocations, initiating foreign wire requests, production funding etc.
o Assist with on-boarding evolving technologies and determine how to incorporate them into production finance workflows
o Communicate regularly with Production Finance Executives and keep them abreast of any finance, production and accounting related issues
o Schedule and coordinate initial finance kick-off and ongoing meetings for the various productions.
o Create, update and proactively maintain production finance documents and resources
o Serve as a bridge between freelance accounting departments and the studio to ensure both sides receive pertinent updates in a timely manner
o Review and follow up on receipt of weekly closing reports including trial balance and detail ledger reporting requirements. Work closely with production to manage and clear all outstanding items
o Support in the review of production budget, hot cost, cost reporting
o Perform production location audits in collaboration with Production Finance Executive
o Liaise with FP&A and controllership to respond to production cost updates/issues on assigned shows.
o Support and resolution in clearing Bank Reconciliation outstanding items, and ledger reconciliations
o Worker€™s Compensation, quarterly deliverables and 1099 year end review and coordinate consolidation reporting to Admin and Ops
o Monthly Cash Forecast Review and support with Finance Executives
o Assist with Co-production finance management, reviews with Co-producing partners
o Support Ad-hoc projects as needed, training and development initiatives
Basic Qualifications
o Bachelor€™s degree preferred
o Minimum 4 years of film and/or television industry production finance or production accounting experience preferred
o Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft/Apple products
