CBS2/KCAL9 has an immediate opening for a Technician Supervisor (Production Support) for the Los Angeles Duopoly KCBS/KCAL. The Tech Supervisor is responsible for working with a team of production technicians who will work with the editorial staff and field crews to acquire, route, and operate equipment to acquire live signals. Editing video using nonlinear editing equipment for the newscast and supporting the technical needs of the Production Control Room and Studio.
Job Function:
Duties include acquiring and routing RF and bonded cellular signals with the ability to multi-task under deadlines. Edit video including Vo, Sots, PKG’s, Knowledge of Edius and Grass Valley systems a plus. Studio support includes assisting guests with microphones, running handheld cameras, and assisting producers with technical needs.
• Safely operate news-gathering equipment
• Knowledge of Cellular Bonding systems (Dejero, LiveU)
• Schedule and record live feeds
• Edit stories quickly and accurately
• Sound technical decisions under pressure
• Studio and Production Control Room Support
Required:
• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills
• Strong work ethic, positive outlook & leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities a must.
• Excellent people and communication skills
• Good conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills
• Other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $127,253.00 - 127,253.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
