CBS News is looking for a dynamic, innovative, and proactive producer that will be responsible for putting together a daily news block for the overnight broadcast! The candidate will be required to work with the anchor and team in the control room to write and produce the most up-to-date stories of the evening and early morning. The applicant will line produce the show, making sure the program airs flawlessly. This person will also work with the special events team and be responsible for breaking news coverage during the overnight, helping to coordinate video and graphic elements and prepare the anchor and correspondents for special reports. They must be a decisive multi-tasker who possesses strong journalistic judgment and the ability to remain calm in a high-pressure control room setting. They also must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Build a comprehensive and visually compelling news block for the top of the show.
• Line produce the show from the control room, navigating both live and recorded content.
• Prepare the rundown managing copy and the production of video and graphic elements.
• Communicate with anchors and the control room team clearly and effectively.
• Collaborate with the special events team on breaking news coverage.
• Responsible for editorial and creative content for overnight segments.
• Coordinate graphics, writing, and all other editorial and production elements.
• Must have strong editorial judgement with comprehensive knowledge of national and international news.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to work an in-office, 7pm â€'' 3am schedule.
• 5 years producing experience in a professional newsroom.
• Applicant must have control room experience for a network, streaming or cable news program.
• Must have strong news judgment and experience with breaking news.
• Thrives in fast paced and time-critical situations.
• Excellent writing skills: Accuracy, style, structure, and grammar.
• A self-starter that is able to enterprise ideas independently.
• Knowledge of ENPS is helpful.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $100,000 - 130,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
