CBS4, the CBS News owned and operated television station in Miami, is seeking a dynamic news Producer with a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of the South Florida community! We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and outgoing producer who thrives in a team-oriented environment.
As a News Producer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting, leading, and coordinating content for both traditional TV broadcasts and our growing digital-first platforms. This position will require you to work closely with anchors, reporters, photographers, editors, and fellow journalists to craft engaging news segments that resonate with our diverse audience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Originate, research, write, produce, and edit news segments for television and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with CBS Miami's team to ensure seamless coordination and execution of news stories.
• Work both in the control room demonstrating adaptability and composure in fast paced situations.
• Embrace change and innovation, constantly seeking new ideas and approaches to connect with our audience.
• Advance the station's goal of growing digital-first content.
• Cultivate a creative work environment that encourages fresh ideas and community engagement.
• Uphold impeccable grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced.
• Exhibit strong editorial judgment, effective communication, and critical thinking skills.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of broadcast or cable news experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Proven background in journalism and television production, including solid news judgment, rundown management, and concise broadcast writing.
• Familiarity with streaming platforms and working knowledge of digital video production techniques and online content management.
• Previous experience working in a live control room, including serving as a Line Producer in a live-news environment.
• Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in fast paced situations.
• A passion for connecting with the South Florida community and fostering audience development.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check prior to beginning employment.
