CBS Boston is looking for a freelance graphic designer to contribute to our overall design and style across our duopoly of WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV, as well as our digital properties including CBSBoston.com and our social channels. Willing to work in a team-oriented environment with an ability to take direction as well as offer solutions.
We’re looking for someone with a passion for design and ability to bring a creative, contemporary approach to a multitude of different projects. Your expertise will be utilized to enhance elements primarily focusing on on-air news graphics. Additional projects would include promotional spots for marketing and branding as well as commercial work as part of our in-house agency.
Required application skillsets include but not limited to:
After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator
VizRt and Chyron skillset not required but a definite plus.
Knowledge of current design trends and usage of typefaces and their application in multiple display formats.
Must be able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver in our fast-paced deadline oriented environment.
Problem solving skills necessary to work with non-designers to help enhance their vision and provide solutions.
This is a hybrid position, requiring partial shifts in-person and some remote. Ability to work evening shifts is required. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a news environment strongly encouraged.
