SUMMARY:
CBS 62 (WWJ-TV) and CW50 (WKBD-TV), the CBS News Stations owned & operated in the #15 television market Detroit, is searching for an Accounting Assistant primarily responsible for performance and support of the business/financial functions for the following departments News, Engineering and Production. Successful candidate needs to be a multi-tasker with broad business experience, excellent communication, customer service, computer (specifically Excel), and organizational skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Generate PO's for the following departments News, Production, Engineering
• Distribution and coding of incoming invoices for approval by the appropriate department manager
• Ensure timely delivery of invoices to GBS for entry
• Follow up on purchase order / accounts payable issues
• Order and Maintain Office Supplies
• Track expenses monthly for appropriate departments
• Assist in preparing and review expense reports
• Assist in forecasting and budgeting for appropriate departments
• Help maintain and track capital expenditures
• Various other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1-2 years of relevant business experience
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Highly computer literate, to include MS Office/Word/Excel
• Experience with Oracle and Wide Orbit is a plus
Preferred Education
Level:
Bachelor's Degree with a Major in Business/Accounting preferred
Equivalent experience will be considered
