Engineering Maintenance Technician
WJZ-TV, Baltimore
WJZ-TV is seeking an Engineering Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Department
Duties:
Troubleshoot and repair a variety of professional broadcast video, computer and transmission equipment. May also be involved with installation and maintenance of IP-based systems and servers. Ability to read schematics and understand technical manuals required. Work various Studio Operations positions as assigned.
Qualifications:
Applicant should have a minimum of 3-years television broadcast maintenance experience with strong hands-on capability operating and repairing with Studio and ENG equipment; including News Vans and SAT trucks. Experience with non-linear editing systems and station automation.
Computer networking and video servers a plus. Participation in technical projects including installation, wiring, integration, testing and troubleshooting a must. Applicant should be familiar with basic video and RF test equipment and troubleshooting techniques. Must have the ability to work independently and/or with a team, and work under deadlines. Must be able to work day or night shifts.
Familiar with:
Test and Measurements equipment, computers, and various other television broadcast/production equipment.
Education:
High School Diploma, GED, Technical or EE Technical School preferred.
