CBS News Radio seeks a multi dynamic Associate Producer to be part of our production team in either NY or DC. With a focus on the podcasting, creative services, and promo production across the entire portfolio for Audio at CBS News and our partners. We create hit original podcasts based on popular IP like, Intelligence Matters, The Takeout, and My Life in Crime. You will be part of a team helping to build our current catalog of shows and new opportunities, with an understanding of the on-demand digital audio space and production. This hands-on role requires the ability to work directly to support the show(s) and editorial staff's work along with outside third parties.
A focus on production and operation skills to help execute the broadcast daily and weekly podcast production. Also, to help create and execute commercial content for air in Podcasts, Radio and in Streaming. The Associate Producer will assist the Senior Producer in show editing, creative strategies, and creating and building on the audio storytelling platform established by CBS News and CBS Audio Universe. The ideal candidate should have a strong news sensibility and be an experienced producer and audio storyteller who is well-versed in conversations around news, politics, pop culture, and race.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor, track, support multiple projects, and initiatives in a fast-paced news-centric environment
• Produce, find, and innovate content for our 24/7 stream, podcasts and other products
• Assist with the production of recordings in studio and in the field
• Coordinate studio bookings across a variety of programs and needs
• Help Script commercial content for top-billing clients
• Improve and create new relationships with a variety of content partners and the public at large
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• 1 years of some newsgathering experience preferred
• Strong communication skills, as well as the ability to delegate and prioritize effectively across multiple projects
• Structure a compelling, and unique audio stories
• Work with and collaborative production team and help guide and shape the editorial direction of the program
• Manage a tight production schedule
• Proven track record of success producing content in news or talk radio
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Strong audio editing skills, Adobe Audition, preferred
• Content management systems
• Uploading content and FTP systems
• Work with audio consoles and audio mixing
• Experience with dB, VU & Loudness sound measurement tools
