Full Time Paid Internship
Division Overview:
We are an enthusiastic group leading the future of streaming media and video technology. Our diverse blend of brands include UEFA soccer (including Champions and Europa Leagues), SportsLive, PGA TOUR, Hockey East and more. We reach millions of users by streaming some of the biggest events (the Super Bowl and the Masters, just to name two). Our platform is also built for volume, with our team managing 400-plus events on busy college athletic days.
Role Details:
The successful candidate will become a key contributor in our Streaming Operations team. This operations specialist will check in live events, ensuring the set up is correct and our partners are successfully connecting their encoders to our platform. This person also keeps logs with details for all events, including events that needed troubleshooting.
Your Day-to-Day:
• Your day begins by checking sports schedules. You may see up to 400 events that will live stream on platform. You then talk to your teammates to determine who is responsible for which events. And then you begin the process of checking events and troubleshooting any issues in the leadup to game time. Once the games begin, you will keep a close eye on our diagnostic tools to ensure our clients are getting a solid experience.

• This is a paid internship and can also be for university credit if it meets your university's guidelines
Qualifications:
What you bring to the team:
Applicants wanting to be considered for this internship with the CBS Sports Digital Video Operations Team should have an interest in video streaming and the technology and engineering needed to make it work. The ideal candidate must have related coursework with at least one of the following areas: video technology, video streaming/ott devices, web-based engineering, AWS, or cloud computing.
You are:
• A self-starter who works well with others in a team-centric environment and excels in communication
• Proactive, organized, detailed and able to follow detailed instructions
• Technical minded and excited about cloud-based infrastructure, web/video streaming app development, and video streaming.
• A sports fan!
You have:
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• A basic understanding of professional, semi-professional, and collegiate sports
• Ability to remember, understand and help facilitate sports live streaming
• A basic understanding of video streaming, ott devices, cloud-based infrastructure or web/video streaming app development
• An ability to create reports and contribute to our existing documentation
Nice to have:
• A working knowledge of RTMP based video streaming
• Basic understanding of video technology, codecs, frame rate, and other video specs
• Knowledge of Amazon Web Services or other cloud-based infrastructure
• Experience in web or video streaming app development
• Experience in a Dev and QA build environments
Additional Requirements:
• Intern must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
• You must be 18 or older.
